　ロンドン　イスラム聖職者が殺される

　ロンドンにあるモスクのひとつでは、イスラム教スンニ派のイマムであるマイムン・ザルズル氏が殺害された。

　ザルズル氏はレバノンからの移民だった。地元警察は、今回の殺人事件が宗教的な動機に基づいたものではないとの考えを示している。捜査によれば、容疑者とされるモスクの信者であるアルジェリア人は精神病を患っていたという。

　ザルズル氏は、ロンドン北部のイスラム共同体センターの執務室で殺害されたという。容疑者は祈祷の後、問題を相談したいと言って、イマムの執務室を訪れたとされており、その後、センターの職員がイマムが殺されているのを発見した。容疑者は自ら警察に出頭した。

A BLIND Muslim cleric was murdered moments after morning prayers yesterday.
Sheik Maymoun Zarzour, 39, was killed after an unknown man walked up to him and asked to talk, witnesses said.

He died at the scene and the man was arrested on suspicion of murder. It is not being treated as a race or hate crime by police.
One worshipper, who asked to be named only as Omar, said the suspected killer was “not a usual member of the congregation”.
He added: “I had never seen him before. I’m not sure how he was killed.
“Some people were saying he strangled him, some were saying maybe he hit him. It isn’t clear.
“He was a perfect man. I cannot say anything bad about him.
“The whole community is shocked – we’ve never heard of anything like it before.”
Another worshipper added: “There were rumours the man was mentally ill.
“It is such a shock. For anyone to be killed is a shock but for an imam to be killed... is beyond belief.”
Sheik Zarzour was a member of Lebanon’s Sunni Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya group, a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood and came to the UK in 2008 seeking asylum.
He had been preaching at the Muslim Welfare House in Finsbury Park, North London, close to the mosque where hook-handed hate cleric Abu Hamza was once based.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service to reports of a man seriously injured at an Islamic bookshop and welfare centre.
“A man – whose age is not known at this stage – was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.”

彼は近くにフック利き憎悪の聖職者アブハムザが一度に基づいていたモスクに、フィンズベリーパーク、ロンドン北部のイスラム教徒の福祉の家で説教されていた。
